The Cowboys looked a little bit tired last night.  But they really played well on defense most of the night as they were leading this game 9-0 after the first three quarters.  Tony Romo was so-so completing 4 of 7 passes for 52 yards.  Jon Kitna looked a little bit better completing 8 of 11 passes for 96 yards.  Stephen McGee took a step back last night completing only 2 of 7 passes for 11 yards.  He also carried the ball 2 times for 15 yards (7.5 ypc) last night.  4th string QB Matt Nichols had a night to forget.  He completed 8 of 14 passes for 72 yards with 0 TD passes and 2 INTs.  One of Nichols pickoffs was returned 48 yards for a TD by Raiders’ safety Jerome Boyd.  WR Sam Hurd led the way in the passing game for the Cowboys last night as he caught 4 passes for 57 yards (14.3 avg).  The Cowboys finished up with only 66 yards rushing (3.0 ypc) and 197 passing yards last night.

The Cowboys looked a little sloppy at times in the Hall of Fame Game last night in Canton, Ohio but they played well enough to beat the Bengals.  Offensively the Cowboys didn’t look so hot.  Tony Romo was sharp until the Cowboys got into the red zone in his only possession with the ball.  He completed 5 of 10 passes for 59 yards.  Jon Kitna wasn’t as good as Romo was as he completed 4 of 7 passes for 56 yards.  Stephen McGee got a lot of P.T. in this game as he completed 12 of 22 passes for 116 yards.  On the ground last night Tashard Choice was the man for the Cowboys as he led the team with 41 yards on 7 carries (5.9 ypc).  TEs John Phillips (4 rec, 60 yards) and Scott Sicko (5 rec, 44 yards) led the way in the passing game last night for the Cowboys.  The Cowboys rushed for 85 yards (2.9 ypc) and passed for 212 yards last night as they held onto the ball for 36:11.

Defensively the Cowboys played well the whole game.  Rookie cornerback (6th rounder) Jamar Wall made a good first impression last night with six tackles.  Linebacker Jason Williams was also very busy for the Cowboys last night with 6 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit.  Linebacker Brandon Sharpe didn’t have any tackles last night but he intercepted a Jordan Palmer pass in the 4th quarter and he returned it 6 yards for a TD.  The defense only allowed the Bengals to rush for 43 yards (2.5 ypc) and pass for 136 yards as they played stellar football.
