The Cowboys have lost 22-year old rookie WR Dez Bryant for the rest of the year due to a fractured right ankle.  Bryant played in 12 games for the Cowboys this year and he caught 45 passes for 561 yards (12.5 avg) with 6 TD grabs.  He also returned 15 punts for 215 yards (14.3 avg) with 2 TD returns and he also returned 12 kickoffs for 293 yards (24.4 avg) this year.  New head coach Jason Garrett says that Bryant is too valuable to be returning kickoffs and punts so look for the Cowboys to use him on offense full-time in 2011.

The Cowboys will be without rookie DT Sean Lissemore for the next 4-6 weeks due a  high ankle sprain.  Lissemore has played in 2 games for the Cowboys this year and he has 3 sacks and 1/2 a sack.  This is a bad break for Lissemore who was a 7th round pick out of William & Mary last April.  That’s because he was finally getting a chance to play.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Cowboys Headlines,Front Page,General Cowboys Talk,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 9 November 2010 at 4:45 pm

The Dallas Cowboys lose Tony Romo for at least 6-8 weeks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Cowboys Talk,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 26 October 2010 at 10:24 am

The Cowboys have lost 30-year old, starting QB Tony Romo for the next 6-8 weeks due to a broken left clavicle suffered in last night’s game against the Giants.  Romo has played in 5 games for the Cowboys this year and he has completed 148 of 213 passes (69.5%) for 1,605 yards with 11 TD passes and 7 INTs (94.9 QB Rating).  Romo has also carried the ball 6 times for 38 yards (6.3 ypc) this year.  Without Romo the Cowboys should turn to the running game a tad more as Jon Kitna is nowhere near his level as a QB.  It will also be interesting to see how fast the Cowboys push Romo to return, especially if things are going badly.  There will be no reason to rush Romo back if the Cowboys continue to get beat down every week.  Romo has now played in 83 games in his career with the Cowboys and he has completed 1,326 of 2,070 passes (64.1%) for 16,650 yards with 118 TD passes and 62 INTs (95.5 QB Rating).  Romo has also carried the ball 136 times for 413 yards (3.0 ypc) with 3 TD runs in his career so far.

The Cowboys will be without 31-year old offensive guard Kyle Kosier for the next 2-3 weeks due to a strained Achilles tendon.  He has started 4 games for the Cowboys so far this year.  30-year old Montrae Holland will replace Kosier in the starting lineup once again.  He has played in 5 games (1 start) for the Cowboys so far this season so they are confident that he’ll be able to do a good job.

The Dallas Cowboys lose Kyle Kosier again

Blogged under Bloglockers,Cowboys Headlines,Front Page,General Cowboys Talk,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 28 September 2010 at 4:00 pm

31-year old starting LG Kyle Kosier will miss the next 4-6 weeks due to a sprained right knee.  Kosier has played in 2 games for the Cowboys so far this season (both starts).  The Cowboys will replace Kosier at LG with Montrae Holland.  Holland has played in 3 games (1 start) for the Cowboys this year and he’s a solid veteran.  That doesn’t mean that the Cowboys won’t miss Kosier because they will.
