Dallas Cowboys 20, Philadelphia Eagles 16
The Dallas Cowboys (6-2) got revenge against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday. They beat the Eagles who ended their playoff hopes last season in 44-6 rout. This game was much closer and Tony Romo was able to get the job done. He found his favorite target Miles Austin only once in this game, but once was more than enough as it was a 49-yard touchdown to put the Cowboys ahead for good in the 4th quarter. Austin continues to stun defenses and now has 7 touchdowns on the year (six in the last four games) and leads the NFL with a 22.7 yards per catch average. The Cowboys running game only got 76 yards as a team, but they were very effective. Tashard Choice and Marion Barber combined for 63 yards on 15 carries ( 4.2 avg), with Choice adding a touchdown as well.
The Cowboys defense had a great all-around game. They intercepted Donovan McNabb twice, and held him to one touchdown and 227 yards on 16/30 attempts. This was the first time since last season that McNabb has had a multi-interception game. They also only gave up 89 rushing yards, holding the Eagles to 297 total yards compared to the Cowboys 358 total yards. They shut down the dangerous receiver DeSean Jackson, who has been making huge plays all year with six touchdowns all over 50 yards. The Cowboys have been playing very well and things are starting to really click. If they can keep up this type of play they can make a deep run in the playoffs and possibly get themselves into the Super Bowl.
