The over/under for Dallas Cowboys wins in 2008 is 10.5

That total is one that has to make you pause a minute and think about it but I still like the over.  I like the fact that Jerry Jones is taking talent that has huge upsides like Pacman Jones and not worrying too much about off the field behavior.  The Cowboys have the most talented roster in the NFL and they will win a lot of game despite playing a tough schedule.  Take the over and hope the team stays healthy.

The Cowboys have signed safety Keith Davis after he was let go by the Dolphins.  Davis played in 3 preseason games for the Dolphins this year and he made 7 tackles.  The Cowboys welcome back Keith Davis who has played in 68 games for them in his NFL career compiling 132 tackles and defensing 5 passes.  The Cowboys will likely use Davis a lot on special teams where he is an ace.

The NFL has reinstated CB Adam Jones

The NFL has reinstated 24-year old cornerback/return man Adam Jones for the 2008 season.  The Cowboys hope that Jones can keep his nose clean and help the defense and special teams this season.  Jones last played in the NFL in 2006 with the Tennessee Titans.  Jones has played in 31 games (28 starts) in his NFL career and he has made 115 tackles, has 1 sack, defensed 18 passes and he has 4 interceptions (1 returned for a TD).  Jones is also an electric return man and the Cowboys will definately use him on them.  Jones has returned 63 kickoffs in his NFL career for 1,648 yards (26.2 avg).  But, he is really exceptional at returned punts.  Jones has returned 63 punts for 712 yards (11.3 avg) with 4 TD returns.

The Dallas Cowboys acquire guard Montrae Holland from the Broncos

The Cowboys have acquired guard Montrae Holland from the Broncos for a 5th round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.  The 28-year old Holland is a huge guy at 6′2″, 322 pounds and he will likely bump Joe Berger from the starting job at left guard until Kyle Kosier is ready to return.  Holland played in 16 games (all starts) with the Broncos last season and he played pretty well for them.  He has now played 5 seasons in the NFL covering 68 games, 46 of which he started.  A fifth round pick for a starting lineman equals a good deal for the Cowboys.
