The Cowboys now have the best record in the NFC at 12-1 after dispatching the Packers last night.  Tony Romo had a great game as he completed 19 of 30 passes for 309 yards with 4 TD passes and 1 interception.  Marion Barber got the tough yards as he carried the ball 17 times for 81 yards (4.8 ypc).  Julius Jones pitched in with 9 carries for 26 yards (2.9 ypc).  Terrell Owens had another monster game for the Cowboys as he caught 7 passes for 156 yards (22.3 avg) with a TD grab.  Jason Witten pitched in with 6 grabs for 67 yards (11.2 avg).  Patrick Crayton only caught 3 passes for 42 yards (14.0 avg) but he made them count as two of them were TDs.  The Cowboys finished up with 105 yards rushing on 28 carries (3.8 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 30 passes for 309 yards.

The Cowboys defense was led by CB Terence Newman who had 5 tackles and a interception and linebacker Greg Ellis who had 4 tackles and 2 sacks.  The Packers finished up with 124 yards rushing on 19 carries (6.5 ypc) and they also completed 23 of 40 passes for 233 yards.

Tony Romo has it good right now for the Dallas Cowboys

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Cowboys Talk by admin on Wednesday 28 November 2007 at 9:08 pm

Tony Romo has proved that last season was no fluke and he’s dating Jessica Simpson….now that makes me jealous.  Romo has done a god job of spreading the ball around to a lot of different receivers and he has just enough mobility to avoid the pass rush as he has only been sacked 16 times this season.  Romo has completed 233 of 352 passes (66.2%) for 3,043 yards with 29 TDs and 13 interceptions (105.3 QB Rating).  The Cowboys need Romo to be sharp against the Packers on Thursday Night if they want to win home field in the NFC Playoffs.

Dallas Cowboys 34, New York Jets 3

The Jets never had a chance in this football game as the Cowboys dominated them this whole football game.  The Cowboys had possession of the football for 37:52 of this football game which explains the ease of victory.  Tony Romo had a solid game as he completed 21 of 28 passes for 195 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 interception.  Marion Barber had one of his better games of the season as he carried the ball 18 times for 103 yards (5.7 ypc) with a TD run and he also caught 4 passes for 12 yards (3.0 avg).  Julius Jones also got some solid work in as he carried the ball 14 times for 64 yards (4.6 ypc) and he also caught 4 passes for 26 yards (6.5 avg).  Terrell Owens (6 rec, 65 yards, TD) and Jason Witten (4 rec, 54 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Cowboys.  The Cowboys finished up this game with 34 carries for 174 yards (5.1 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 28 passes for 170 yards.

The defense was outstanding for the Cowboys yesterday.  They were led by Greg Ellis who had 4 tackles and 2 sacks.  CB Terence Newman only had 1 tackle but he intercepted a pass and returned it 50 yards for a TD.  The Jets finished this game with 60 yards rushing on 21 carries (2.9 ypc) and they also completed 12 of 27 passes for 120 yards.

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Jets

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Cowboys Talk,This Week's Matchup Report by admin on Thursday 22 November 2007 at 2:33 am

The Jets look like they are finally waking up as they defeated the Steelers in overtime last week and they fell in OT against Washington in the game before.  The Cowboys are looking like they are the 2nd or 3rd best team in football right now.

The Jets will likely try to run the ball a lot with Thomas Jones (723 yards rushing) and Leon Washington in an attempt to keep the ball away from the Cowboys offense.  That will be easier said than done as the Cowboys only allow 84.3 yards rushing per game and 3.6 ypc.  Kellen Clemens did make some big throws in the game last week but he must be careful against a Cowboys defense that has 15 sacks already this season.

The Cowboys will likely try to get the lead passing and then pound the ball on the ground to finish up the game.  Tony Rom0 (2,848 yards, 27 TDs and 12 INTs) and Terrell Owens (58 rec, 1.028 yards, 12 TD receptions) will likely be playing a game of catch all game long unless the Jets are effective in blitzing like they were last week against the Steelers.  Marion Barber and Julius Jones should both have decent games against the Jets defense which is allowing 148.2 yards rushing per game.

PREDICTION:  COWBOYS 28, JETS 17

The Cowboys were in a tough battle today but Tony Romo and Terrell Owens came to the rescue.  Romo completed 22 of 32 passes for 293 yards with 4 TD passes and 1 interception.  The Cowboys had a hard time running the ball as Marion Barber (15 car, 43 yards, 2.9 ypc) and Julius Jones (9 car, 27 yards, 3.0 ypc) both had tough games.  Terrell Owens was a monster today as he caught 8 passes for 173 yards (21.6 avg) with 4 TD grabs.  Jason Witten also had a solid game with 8 catches for 67 yards (8.4 avg).  The Cowboys finished up with 72 yards rushing on 25 carries (2.9 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 32 passes for 287 yards.

The Cowboys just played enough defense for the team to win this game.  Roy Williams (10 tackles) and DeMarcus Ware (7 tackles, sack) led the way for the Cowboys defense.  The Redskins finished up with 62 yards rushing on 17 carries (3.6 ypc) and they also completed 34 of 55 passes for 361 yards.

The Dallas Cowboys lose fullback Deon Anderson for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Cowboys Headlines,Front Page,General Cowboys Talk,Injury Reports,The Draft Report by admin on Wednesday 7 November 2007 at 1:17 am

Rookie fullback Deon Anderson will miss the rest of the season after tearing his rotator cuff against the Eagles last week.  Anderson showed skills as a blocker but he didn’t carry the ball as a rookie.  He did catch 6 passes for 55 yards (9.2 avg) and looks like a keeper for the future.

The Dallas Cowboys showed the Eagles who the boss was as they thrashed them in Philly.  Tony Romo was fantastic in this game as he completed 20 of 25 passes for 324 yards with 3 TD passes and 1 interception.  The running game was split right down the middle for the Cowboys.  Julius Jones ran the ball 13 times for 57 yards (4.4 ypc) with a TD run and he also caught 3 passes for 22 yards (7.3 avg).  Marion Barber also had a solid game with 16 carries for 56 yards (3.5 ypc) with a TD run and he also caught 3 passes for 50 yards (16.7 avg).  Terrell Owens kicked the Eagles ass and it appeared to make him feel really good as he was repeatedly taunting the crowd.  T.O. caught 10 passes for 174 yards (17.4 avg) including a TD grab.  TE Jason Witten also had a solid game with 3 catches for 77 yards (25.7 avg) with a TD.  The Cowboys finished up with 110 yards rushing on 32 carries (3.4 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 25 passes for 324 yards.

The Cowboys did a decent job of keeping the Eagles offense in front of them.  OLB DeMarcus Ware led the way for the Cowboys with 8 tackles and 1.5 sacks.  The Eagles finished up with 66 yards rushing on 19 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 27 of 46 passes for 250 yards.
