New England Patriots 48, Dallas Cowboys 27
The Cowboys just couldn’t keep the Patriots offense off of the field and it killed them in the end. The Cowboys only had the ball for 21:45 of this game and it’s impossible to beat the Patriots that way. Tony Romo had a decent game as he completed 18 of 29 passes for 199 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 interception. Julius Jones ( 6 car, 51 yards) and Marion Barber (8 car, 47 yards) both were really running the ball well but the Cowboys got too far behind to feed them the rock. Terrell Owens had a solid game with 6 catches for 66 yards (11.0 avg) with a TD grab. Jason Witten (3 rec, 47 yards) and Patrick Crayton (5 rec, 46 yards, TD) each also had decent games. The Cowboys finished up with 97 yards rushing on 15 carries (6.5 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 29 passes for 186 yards.
The defense as a whole was pretty awful for the Cowboys. But, DeMarcus Ware (10 tackles, sack) and DE Jason Hatcher (1 tackle, 29 yard fumble recovery for a TD) both played well. The Patriots finished up with 76 yards rushing on 29 carries (2.6 ypc) and they also completed 31 of 46 passes for 373 yards.
