Dallas Cowboys vs. Buffalo Bills

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Cowboys Talk,This Week's Matchup Report by dawgpounded on Friday 5 October 2007 at 8:11 pm

This game appears to be a gigantic mis-match on paper.  Who knows though….maybe the Cowboys will be looking ahead to the showdown with New England next weekend.  That’s doubtful though as the have been the most dominant team outside of the Patriots in the entire NFL.  They are averaging 37.8 points per game, 440.8 yards of offense per game and they are +7 in turnovers so far this season.  The Bills are coming off of their first win of the season against the Jets.

The Bills are missing a lot of players on defense and that partially explains why they are allowing 148.0 yards rushing per game and 282.3 yards passing!  It appears as if the Cowboys will be able to do whatever they want on Monday Night.  Look for them to attempt to make everyone happy as RBs Marion Barber (306 yards rushing) and Julius Jones (176 yards rushing) will split up the carries in the running game.  Look for Tony Romo (112.9 QB Rating) to spread the ball around to Terrell Owens, Patrick Crayton and Jason Witten with little resistance.

The Bills will likely try what worked last week by throwing short passes and running the football.  So the pressure will fall on QB Trent Edwards and RB Marshawn Lynch against a very aggressive Cowboys defense that is only allowing 299.5 yards per game.  The Bills should try to get the football to Lee Evans as he will give the Bills the best chance to make the big plays needed to keep close with the Cowboys.

PREDICTION:  This will be a blowout.  The only people watching this game will be the guys/gals that either have a bet on the game or have Cowboys on their fantasty roster.
