Bobby Carpenter (1, OLB)

Carpenter is the perfect fit as an OLB in Parcells 3-4 defense.  Carpenter is very athletic and plays sideline-to-sideline.  Carpenter is a big linebacker at 6′3″, 254 pounds but also freakishly quick at 4.61 in the 40.  Carpenter never lets a tight end get a clean release from the line and he’s a ballhawk that makes big plays.

In 50 games at Ohio State (26 starts) he has compiled 191 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 14.5 sack
s, broke up six passes and intercepted three passes.

Carpenter has an NFL pedigree as his dad (Rob Carpenter) was a pretty good running back for the New York Giants.  Parcells loves this guys ability and he will probably be a starter from Day #1.
